Megas XLR/ Clerks

This is an illustration based on the cult hit tv cartoon Megas XLR mashed up with the awesome Kevin Smith movie Clerks. Megas was one of my favorite tv shows growing up sad to see that there are no DVD’s released of the seasons available and Clerks is my top three favorites of Kevin Smith movies. This illustration really came about because when I recently watched Megas XLR again I sensed it had a kevin smith vibe to it really doesn’t help that it has the the same type joe schmo/everyday characters (i.e coop, jamie, and Kiva) and it takes place in Jersey. It is quite possibly one of the only shows that is an awesome american parody version of Gundam. I was thinking that if Megas XLR was to be ever made into a movie the perfect person to direct it would be Kevin Smith with his experience of growing up in Jersey, and the similar character dynamic that is apparent between Coop and Jamie a la Jay and Silent Bob. Will start posting Illustrations everyday Friday or saturday, this is the first of many to come so keep an eye out.
